This is an independent directory built from public records. It is a starting point for your own research, not a substitute for it.

What this site is

A directory of 822 licensed childcare programs in Edmonton, assembled from Government of Alberta data, City of Edmonton open data, Edmonton Public Schools websites, and operators' own websites. How each field is sourced, and what it cannot tell you, is set out on the methodology page.

Not affiliated, not endorsed

This site is not affiliated with, operated by, or endorsed by the Government of Alberta, the City of Edmonton, Edmonton Public Schools, Edmonton Catholic Schools, or any childcare operator listed on it. Listing a program is not a recommendation of it, and the order programs appear in carries no meaning.

Accuracy, and why you should verify

Information is reproduced from sources that go out of date. Licences change, programs close, fees rise, and a daycare's own website may be older than the provincial record. Inspection history in particular is a quarterly snapshot and may not reflect a program's situation today.

Always confirm details directly with the operator before making a decision. We publish no ratings, scores or rankings, and nothing here is an assessment of a program's quality or safety.

Inspection and compliance information

Licensing findings are reproduced as the Government of Alberta records them, with the official code, its description, the inspection reason and any remedy date. We do not characterise, summarise or score them.

A finding is a point-in-time regulatory observation, most of which are remedied quickly. An absence of findings is not evidence of quality, and no inspection on record is not the same as a clean record — the site shows these as separate states for that reason.

Corrections

If you operate a program listed here and something is wrong, missing or out of date, tell us and we will correct it and note the date. Errors in the provincial licensing record itself have to be corrected with the Government of Alberta; we re-import on a schedule, so those changes flow through automatically. See corrections.

Links to other sites

Operator websites, school pages and government pages are linked for your convenience. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content, accuracy or privacy practices. Photographs on an operator's site belong to that operator — we link to them rather than copying them.

Acceptable use

You are welcome to browse, link to and share these pages. Please do not scrape the site at a rate that degrades it for others, or republish the compiled dataset in a way that implies government endorsement. The underlying provincial data is available under the Open Government Licence – Alberta if you want it — take it from the source rather than from us.

No warranty, and limits of liability

This site is provided as is, without warranty of any kind, express or implied. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from use of this site or reliance on information published here. Your childcare decisions are yours, and should rest on your own contact with the operator and with Alberta's licensing authority.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta, Canada.

These terms may change as the site does. Material changes will be reflected in the date below.
